Karen recently completed her MA thesis on a study of tuna fishing in the Pacific region. She has done fieldwork on Niue in the Pacific, and is a keen scuba diver. She is Senior Research Assistant in a programme of research on prehistoric fishing in New Zealand and the Chatham Islands.
