Today's Tides at Ngakuta Bay
A Typical Low Tide Ngakuta Bay
The vertical tidal range at Ngakuta Bay is only about 1.5 metre, but because of the low beach profile a long much of the shoreline the horizontal tidal range is considerable, approximately 118 metres where the small dinghys are located near the stream mouth in the centre of the bay. The exposed gravel and mudflats are a wonderful foraging ground for birds and intertidal marine life.
